Land use/ land cover changes and their potential influence of urban climate in Brno and surroundings

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá klasifikací využití území s důrazem na možnost aplikace této klasifikace pro potřeby urbánní klimatologie. Dále aplikuje vytvořenou klasifikaci na staré mapy pokrývající období od 30. let 19. století dodnes na území města Brna. Z vytvořených map kvantifikuje na základě rozlohy jednotlivých druhů povrchů v jednotlivých časových řezech velikost změn v aktivních površích. Za sledované období zastavěná plocha města Brna zvětšila svou rozlohu desetinásobně a to především v průběhu dvou období a to mezi 70. lety 19. století a 40. lety 20 století a mezi 50. a 80. lety 20. století. Naproti tomu rozloha lesních porostů se v průběhu času téměř nezměnila. Součástí práce jsou mapy aktivních povrchů za sedm časových řezů z období 30. a 70. let 19. století, 40., 50., 80. a 90. let 20. století a ze současnosti, vytvořené z map II. a III. vojenského mapování, protektorátního vojenského mapování Messtischblätter, československých topografických map z 50., 80. a 90. let a z aktuální základní mapy 1:10 000.

Abstract:

This thesis is focused on the classification of land use with the accent on applications in urban climatology. A classification system has been created and applied on the old maps from a period since 1830th in the area of the Brno city. The proportion of changes in the active surfaces has been quantified by changes in the surface area of different surface types on a basis of the maps created. For example, build up area has grown ten-times. This happened during two periods of the biggest changes in active surfaces. The first of these changes appeared between 1870th and 1940th and the second one between 1950th and 1980th. On the other hand, forests did not significantly change its surface area during the whole period. As a result of this work, we proposed maps of active surfaces from seven time slices for the years 1830, 1870, 1940, 1950, 1980, 1990 and the actual map of active surfaces in the Brno city for 2011. These were based on the maps of the 2nd and 3rd military survey, Messtischblätter military survey, Czechoslovak topographic maps and actual map 1:10000.
