Financial Literacy with a View to Prevention

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá finanční gramotností se zaměřením na prevenci. Její struktura je koncipována tak, aby bylo možné dosáhnout vytčeného cíle. Tímto cílem je zjistit a objasnit, co se skrývá pod pojmem finanční gramotnost a kde, kdo a v jakém rozsahu se prevencí finanční negramotnosti v současné době zabývá. Začátek práce je věnován pohledu na finanční gramotnost ze strany vlády České republiky, významu prevence a jsou rozebírány cílové skupiny, pro které je výuka v oblasti finanční gramotnosti důležitá. V další části bakalářské práce jsou zmiňovány výsledky ze dvou doposud uskutečněných celorepublikových měření úrovně finanční gramotnosti, a to v letech 2007 a 2010. Následuje výčet subjektů, které se v současnosti výukou finanční gramotnosti v České republice zabývají. V závěru jsou představeny dva konkrétní aktuální projekty.

Abstract:

This bachelor's degree thesis addresses the subject of financial literacy, with a focus on the prevention of illiteracy. The work is structured in a way that enables the defined goal to be achieved. This goal is to determine and illuminate just what the term "financial literacy" encompasses and where, by whom and to what extent the prevention of financial illiteracy is currently being pursued. The first part of the paper looks at financial literacy from the point of view of the Czech government and explores the significance of prevention. Target groups for which education in the area of financial literacy is important are also discussed. The next part of the bachelor's degree thesis presents the results of two nationwide surveys of financial literacy conducted in 2007 and 2010. This is followed by a listing of the subjects involved in teaching financial literacy in the Czech Republic. The conclusion of the work introduces two specific current projects on this subject.
