This thesis focused on methodology of playing on the piccolo, an instrument related to the flute. The first chapter briefly informs about historical development of the piccolo. Thesis continues with chapter dealing with various schools of piccolo-playing and methodical guides published since 19. century to the present. Táto diplomová práca sa zameriava na metodiku hry na pikole, príbuznom nástroji priečnej flauty. Prvá kapitola stručne informuje o historickom vývoji pikoly. Práca pokračuje kapitolou pojednávajúcou o rozličných školách hry na pikole a metodických príručkách, ktoré boli vydané od 19. storočia po súčasnosť.
