Influence of physiotherapy on amputation of lower limb

Abstract:

Cíl práce: Cílem této práce je poukázat na problematiku amputací, poukázat na důležitost rehabilitace za použití určitých konceptů a podrobné kazuistiky vybraných pacientů a to u stehenní amputace oproti bércové amputaci s jejich následným porovnáním. Metodika: V mé bakalářské práci spolupracuji se dvěma pacienty, kteří přišli o dolní končetinu. Na základě vstupních kineziologických rozborů jsem zhotovila krátkodobé fyzioterapeutické plány, které jsem následně aplikovala. S pacientkou jsem se viděla celkem dvanáctkrát, zatímco s druhým pacientem jsem se viděla dvacetkrát. Během těchto terapií jsem využila různých konceptů a metod. Hojně jsem využila metodiky uvolňování měkkých tkání, postizometrické relaxace, polohování, protahování, míčkování, kineziotapingu, cvičení za pomoci labilních ploch a cvičení stability pomocí rytmické stabilizace. Výsledky: Během mé terapie došlo k výraznému zlepšení, co se týče hybnosti pahýlu a to u obou pacientů, zvýšení svalové síly, k úpravě rychlosti chůze a zároveň i úpravě psychického stavu. Závěr: Vlivem fyzioterapeutické intervence a poměrně dobré spolupráce pacientů došlo k celkem rychlé úpravě jejich pohybových stereotypů a hlavně k úpravě chůze tak, aby se pro ně stala bezpečná.

Abstract:

Aim of the paper: The aim of this paper was to point out the problematics of amputation and point out the importance of rehabilitation using specific concepts, and detailed casuistry of given patients, comparing above-knee and bellow-knee amputations. Methodology: In my bachelor thesis I work with two patients who lost their lower limb. Considering the enter kinesiological analysis, I created short-time physiological plans and applied them. I had twelve therapy sessions with one of the patients, twenty sessions with the other. During these therapy sessions I applied several concepts and methods. Specifically, I focused on the methodology of soft tissue relaxation, post-isometric relaxation, patient positioning, stretching, foam ball facilitation, kinesio taping, excercise using labile surface and excercise on rhythmic stabilization. Results: There has been a distinctive progress in the dynamics of the stump at both of the patients, increase of muscle strenght, adjustment of pace of their walk, and improvement of their mental state. Conslusion: Due to physiotherapeutical intervention and the patients' cooperation, there has been relatively fast adjustments of the patients' motoric stereotypes and adjustments od their walk to be safe for them.
