Psychometric characteristics of the ECR-RS, structure of the relationship between global and specific attachment - cross - validization of the results using the czech and original version of the ECR-RS

Anotace:

Několik nástrojů k měření vazby bylo vyvinuto v posledních třiceti letech, nicméně jejich struktura zůstává stále nejasná, především pak v zaměření na specifickou a globální vazbu. V metodě ECR-RS (Fraley et al., 2011) hodnotí respondenti vztah ke čtyřem vazbovým figurám (matka, otec, romantický partner a nejlepší přítel). Tato práce se zaměřuje na možnost testování hypotézy ohledně existence faktoru globální vazby. Byl použit český vzorek (N = 1023) a mezinárodní vzorek odpovídající na originální verzi metody (Hudson’s et al., 2015; N = 1095) pro porovnání hierarchického modelu, kde specifická vazba je částečně dána globálnívazbou, a bifaktorového modelu, ve kterém globální vazba přímo ovlivňuje odpovědi na otázky v dotazníku. Bifaktorový model se shodoval s daty lépe a podpořil hypotézu, kdy globální vazba ovlivňuje vztahové prožívání přímo, nikoli skrze specifickou vazbu k různým vazbovým figurám. Limity zjištění jsou diskutovány.

Abstract:

Several tools to measure attachment style in adulthood were developed in the past three decades, however their dimensionality is still unclear, the main question being the existence of global attachment. In the ECR RS (Fraley et al., 2011) respondents rate their relationship to four attachment figures (mother, father, close friend and partner). This thesis assesses its dimensionality to test the hypothesis about the possibility to extract global attachment factors from the ECR-RS. We used a Czech sample (N = 1023) and an international sample (Hudson’s et al., 2015; N = 1095) to compare a hierarchical model, where the figure specific attachment factors are partially product of the global attachment with a bifactor model, in which the global attachment factors directly influence the responses in questionnaires. Bifactor model describes the data better lending support to the hypothesis that the global attachment influences the human behavior directly, not through the specific attachment to different figures. The limits of this finding are discussed.
