Risk management in healthcare

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou risk managementu, která je v rámci textu dále specifikována na rizika a krizové faktory v rezortu zdravotnictví. Autorka práce nejdříve mapuje management rizik v teoretické rovině a dále se zabývá souvislostmi risk managementu v rovině legislativní, zejména pak v měřítku Evropské unie. Další kapitoly práce jsou věnovány zvolené konkrétní společnosti CHIROS s.r.o., která reprezentuje soukromý sektor zdravotnictví v České republice. Podnik je přehledně představen, přiblížen pomocí SWOT analýzy a následně je proveden rozbor podnikových krizových procesů a situací. Vlastním empirickým výzkumem v podobě dotazníkového šetření se autorka ve druhé části práce dostává k datům a informacím, které odráží názory a zkušenosti zaměstnanců společnosti v kontextu rizik a mimořádných událostí ve zdravotnictví. Hlavního cíle předkládané bakalářské práce je následně dosaženo prostřednictvím autorsky navrženého evaluačního plánu rizik a analýzy rizik společnosti. Text uzavírá série návrhů a finančně vyčíslených doporučení, formulovaná na základě výsledků rizikové analýzy. Poslední částí práce je autorský koncept krizového plánu společnosti CHIROS s.r.o.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the issue of risk management and further specifies this topic in terms of risks and crisis factors in the healthcare sector. Firstly, the author of this thesis delineates topic of risk management on a theoretical level and then examines the implications of risk management at the legislative level especially within the European Union. Following chapters are devoted to specifically chosen company CHIROS Ltd., which represents the private business within the healthcare sector in the Czech Republic. The company is clearly presented, described through the SWOT analysis and subsequently the emergency procedures and situations within the company are analysed. By means of own empirical research in the form of conducted questionnaire survey, the author acquires data and information, which reflect personal opinions and experiences of employees in the context of risks and emergency procedures in the healthcare sector. The main objective of this thesis is then achieved through the proposed evaluation plan of risks and risk analysis of the company. The text is concluded by series of proposals and financially quantified recommendations formulated and based on the results of company's risk analysis. The last part of this thesis presents a concept of a crisis plan of CHIROS Ltd.
