British Colonization through the Eyes of Chinua Achebe
Abstract:
This thesis describes the aftermath of colonization on Africans as seen through the eyes of Chinua Achebe. This description is realized by analyses of his trilogy, i.e. the novels Arrow of God, No Longer at Ease and Things Fall Apart. The results are compared with the description of British colonization of Africa compiled from the scholarly sources of Western scholars, which is introduced in the first …more
Abstract:
Cílem práce je popis kolonizačních dopadů na africké obyvatele očima nigerijského autora Chinui Achebeho. Tento popis je uskutečněn na základě analýzy jeho trilogie, tj. románů Arrow of God, No Longer at Ease a Things Fall Apart. Výsledky jsou porovnány s popisem britské kolonizace Afriky v odborné literatuře psané západními autory, který je představen v úvodní kapitole bakalářské práce.
