Rewards and punishments from the perspective of pupils and teachers at primary schools in Brno and Kuřim

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá odměnami a tresty z pohledu žáků a učitelů. Teoretická část práce se věnuje základním pojmům souvisejícím s touto tematikou. Obsahuje informace o kázni, příčinách nekázně a kázeňských prostředcích. Dále pojednává o odměnách a trestech, jejich dělení, podmínkách užití, vlivu na žáka i na klima třídy, o výhodách i nedostatcích při jejich aplikaci. Práce se věnuje také osobnosti učitele, jeho zacházením s odměnami a tresty, vlivem na žáky. Neopomíjí ani osobnost žáka v pubertálním věku. Praktická část práce obsahuje výzkum, ve kterém je realizován cíl práce, tj. zjistit, jaký mají na odměny a tresty náhled žáci i učitelé, zda se jejich náhledy shodují a jaké odměny a tresty, popř. jak často se na druhém stupni vybraných základních škol používají. Dále zjišťuje, za co jsou žáci učiteli nejčastěji odměňováni a trestáni.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with educational rewards and punishments from the perspective of pupils and teachers. The theoretical part defines basic concepts which are connected with this issue. It contents information about school discipline, causes of school indiscipline and discipline tools. It also focuses on description of school rewards and punishments, its division, terms of application, its impact on pupils and positive/negative climate in the classroom, advantages and disadvantages of their using. The thesis also pays attention to teachers' personality, their treatment with rewards and punishments and an impact of them on pupils and also concerns with personality of pupil in pubertal age. The practical part defines a research which objectives of the work are realized in. The objectives are to find out ways by which rewards and punishments are used at chosen lower secondary schools, what the frequency of their using is, why and what for pupils are rewarded or punished. All these issues mentioned are dealt both from the perspective of teachers and pupils.
