Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá užitím Mantle of the Expert, dramatického přístupu ve výuce rozšířeného v anglicky mluvících zemích, na druhém stupni české základní školy. Cílem této práce je vedení šestihodinového projektu v druhém jazyce, angličtině, navrženého dle principů Mantle of the Expert a následné reflektování této zkušenosti. První část diplomové práce je teoretická a seznamuje blíže s přístupem Mantle of the Expert. Nejprve jsou zkoumány přístupy a metody, jejichž rysy jsou součástí Mantle of the Expert, tedy drama ve výuce, úkolově orientovaná výuka jazyka a kooperativní učení. Dále jsou zmíněny mezipředmětové vztahy, velmi důležitá složka Mantle of the Expert, které umožňují propojování jednotlivých oborů a poznání jejich vzájemné souvislosti. Nakonec je detailně zkoumán sám přístup Mantle of the Expert. Druhá, praktická část se zabývá plánováním projektu, to znamená příslušnou organizací a plánováním projektu. Následně je podrobně popsán samotný plán projektu s cíli, jednotlivými úkoly, doplněn komentářem k procesu, reakcemi žáků a hodnocením procesu. Zpětné vazbě je věnována pozornost v další kapitole, v níž je zmíněna zpětná vazba žáků, druhého učitele a celková zpětná vazba autora této diplomové práce, doplněna možnými návrhy na zlepšení. Závěrem této diplomové práce je shrnutí procesu a celkový dojem z projektu.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the use of Mantle of the Expert, a teaching drama approach spread around English speaking countries, at a Czech lower-secondary school. The aim of this thesis is to pilot a six hours long project in the second language, English, designed according to the principles of Mantle of the Expert and reflect on the experience. The first part of the thesis is theoretical and introduces Mantle of the Expert. First, approaches and methods which share their features with Mantle of the Expert are examined, that is, drama for learning, cooperative language learning and task-based language teaching; next, the cross-curricular relations which build on connections between various subject areas in Mantle of the Expert are discussed; and finally, Mantle of the Expert itself is examined in greater detail. The second, practical, part discusses the planning of the project, that is, organization concerned and planning of the design; next, the design itself with the aims, objectives and individual tasks is introduced step by step, supported by a commentary on pupils’ reactions and evaluation of the process; then, a feedback from three different perspectives is provided, that is, pupil, collegial and the author’s overall feedback with suggested improvements. Last, the conclusion comprises of the summary of the process and the overall impression of the project.
