Using the comics in lessons of french

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the possibility of usage of comics in the French language teaching. The work is conceived into three parts. The theoretic work is followed by the practical part – methodical letters and clue to exercises. For my research work I chose stories of Asterix and Obelix by French authors René Goscinny and Alberto Uderzo. I have analysed the first volume of the series from the year 1961 that is called Astérix le Gaulois (Asterix of Gaul) into detail. In the theoretical part I introduce the origin of the work and its authors, the anatomy of comics and the insight of the comics history. Furhter on, the first episode of the series of Asterix, Astérix le Gaulois, the main characters are being presented. The following chapter treats of the lives of people of Gaul and of Rome. The last chapter of this part comprises a brief contents of the first volume. This theoretical part is followed by a practical section composing of seven methodical letters intended for A2 level. This unit is focused on acquiring knowledge from the theoretical part and widening the vocabulary. In the final part the teachers as well as the students can find clues of the exercises with correct answers. I dared to frame the whole thesis as a useful source for teachers and students as well.

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá možností využití komiksu ve výuce francouzského jazyka. Práce je koncipována do tří částí. Část teoretická, na ní navazující část praktická metodické listy a řešení ke cvičením.Pro svou práci jsem si vybrala příběhy Asterixe a Obelixe od francouzských autorů Reného Goscinnyho a Alberta Uderza. Pro svůj záměr jsem rozpracovala první album těchto příběhů z roku 1961 nazvané Astérix le Gaulois Asterix z Galie. V teoretické části představuji vznik díla a jeho autory, anatomii komiksu a nahlédnutí do historie komiksu. Dále prezentuji první díl série o Asterixovi, Astérix le Gaulois, a jeho hlavní postavy. Následující kapitola pojednává o životě Galů a Římanů. V poslední kapitole této části je uveden stručný obsah prvního dílu. Na tuto teoretickou navazující praktická část se skládá ze sedmi metodických listů určených úrovni A2. Tento celek je zaměřen na získání znalostí z teoretické části a na rozšíření slovní zásoby. V poslední závěrečné části najdou učitelé i studenti klíč ke cvičením, v němž naleznou potřebná správná řešení. Celou práci jsem se pokoušela koncipovat tak, aby byla využitelná jak pro vyučující tak pro studenty.
