Abstract:

Managers are facing critical challenges due to increased dynamics and complexity in modern production systems. In this diploma thesis new combinations of management tools and concepts are developed and evaluated to deal with major difficulties in control those systems. The main goal of the thesis is to develop and implement an integrated performance measurement system at a business unit of a global corporation to facilitate a holistic management approach. The objectives for performance of complex and dynamic production areas are analyzed and should be reached by integrating all organizational levels into the management process. Organizations can be strategically aligned, transformed, and the performance can be significantly increased by providing management tools to the whole workforce to empower all employees.
