Interpretation of the role of social worker in a women's prison and the experience of social workers

Abstract:

Diplomová práce Interpretace role sociálního pracovníka v ženské věznici a její prožívání sociálními pracovníky charakterizuje pojem role sociálního pracovníka v ženské věznici a mapuje zkušenost respondentů, kteří se s ní setkávají. Výsledky rozhovorů s deseti respondenty jsou interpretovány na základě provedené kvalitativní fenomenologické analýzy. Práce je rozdělena na tři části – teoretickou, metodologickou a empirickou. Teoretická část definuje pojmy relevantní s rolí sociálního pracovníka (sociální práce a role sociálního pracovníka) a přibližuje filozofické východisko fenomenologie. Dále vysvětluje pojem prožívání a smyl. Na závěr se zaměřuje na vysvětlení ženské věznice. Metodologická část uvádí teoretický základ výzkumné strategie a empirická část pomocí fenomenologické analýzy interpretuje výpovědi deseti respondentů. Výsledky jsou prezentovány v podobě shrnutí společných témat významů, kde je dbáno na jejich jedinečnost. Práce nabízí diskusi, kde se výzkumník snaží o propojení odborné literatury se zjištěnými významy od respondentů. V závěru práce je poté zodpovězena hlavní výzkumná otázka.

Abstract:

Diploma thesis “The interpretation of the social worker role in a women's prison and the social workers experiences” characterizes the term of role of the social worker in a women's prison and maps the experience of respondents who meets with it. The results of interviews with ten respondents are interpreted on the basis of the qualitative phenomenological analysis. The thesis is divided into three parts – theoretical, metodological and empirical. The theoretical part defines terms relevant to the role of the social worker (social work and the role of social worker) and brings philosophical perspective of phenomenology. It also explains the concept of perception and meaning. Finally it focuses on explaining the women's prison concept. The methodological section provides the theoretical basis of the research strategy and the empirical part of the phenomenological analysis interprets the statements of ten respondents. The results are presented in summary form common themes of meaning, where care is taken to their uniqueness. The work offers a discussion where the the researcher seeks to integrate specialized literature with meanings identified by respondents. The conclusion then answers the main question of research.
