Abstract:

The present elaborated graduate thesis is contentually focused especially to offering development facts and integrated outline of credit cards on the Slovak bank market with the detailed specification of conditions of their providing and advantages of their utilization mainly in the bank practice of VUB bank. The work is devided into three chapters. The first chapter includes information about the origin and the development of debit and credit payment cards in the worldwide criteria and it is concluded with information relating to Slovakia where the bank cards in comparison with the highly-developed world were introduced much more later. The second chapter deals with the analysis of VUB bank credit cards and compares their individual parameters, loyalty programs, benefits and additional services. The distinctive stress is laid on credit cards of the five biggest Slovak commercial banks (Tatra bank, Slovenska sporitelna, CSOB, UniCredit Bank and VUB bank) with clarification and comparison of particularities of individual parameters and benefits at specific credit cards. In the third chapter of this graduate thesis we present the results of the questionnaire survey among the over-standard VUB bank clients which was aimed at knowledge and utilization of credit cards and services connected with them. The survey evaluation is conceived in the form of well-arranged statistics with tables and graphic charts from which there result also certain proposals for extention of the scale of the new effects and benefits for both the bank and the clients and which could be used feasibly in the process of offer and purchase of this product already in the nearest future.

Abstract:

Vypracovaná diplomová práca je obsahovo zameraná najmä na poskytnutie vývojových faktov a komplexného prehľadu o kreditných kartách na slovenskom bankovom trhu s bližšou špecifikáciou podmienok ich poskytovania a výhod plynúcich z ich využívania, predovšetkým v bankovej praxi VÚB banky. Práca je rozdelená do troch kapitol. Prvá kapitola zahŕňa informácie o vzniku a vývoji debetných a kreditných platobných kariet v celosvetovom meradle a kontinuálne končí informáciami vzťahujúcimi sa na Slovensko, kde sa bankové karty v porovnaní s vyspelým svetom dostali až oveľa neskôr. Druhá kapitola zachytáva analýzu kreditných kariet VÚB banky a porovnáva ich jednotlivé parametre, vernostné programy, benefity a doplnkové služby. Osobitný dôraz je kladený na kreditné karty piatich najväčších slovenských komerčných bánk (Tatra banka, Slovenská sporiteľňa, ČSOB, UniCredit Bank a VÚB banka), pričom sú objasnené a porovnávané špecifiká jednotlivých parametrov a úžitkov pri daných kreditných kartách. V tretej kapitole diplomovej práce sú prezentované výsledky dotazníkového prieskumu u nadštandardných klientov VÚB banky, ktorý bol zameraný na poznanie a využívanie kreditných kariet a služieb s nimi spojených. Vyhodnotenie prieskumu je koncipované v podobe prehľadnej štatistiky s tabuľkami a grafmi, z ktorého rezultujú aj isté návrhy na rozšírenie škály nových efektov a benefitov pre banku i klientov, ktoré by sa mohli reálne využiť pri ponuke a predaji tohto produktu už v najbližšej budúcnosti.
