The political discursus in the press in Ústí nad Labem between 1897 and 1914

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the analysis of the medial discursus in the press of Ústí nad Labem between 1897 and 1914. The biggest attention pays the Badeni´s language legislations, the relations between the German and Czech speaking population, primarily in the region north-west Bohemia and the consequences which had these language legislations for the next progression of these relations. The space of these years was purposely chose because 1897 is the year of the issue Badeni´s language legislations and 1914 is the year of the beginning of the World War I. The region of north-west Bohemia was also purposely chose because this a region where lived the Czech speaking and largerly the German speaking population that is why had these language legislations the big influence on this region. This thesis surveys the relations of these ethnicities on the basis of the articles from the newspaper at that time in Ústí nad Labem Aussiger Anzeiger. This newspaper was out by the year 1902 twice a week. Due too the big interest of the reader started to be out as daily newspaper and changed the name of Aussiger Tagblatt. This thesis is a example study. For this study were chose two concrete probes. The first probe is the year 1897. 1897 is the year of the issue Badeni´s language legislations. The second probe describes the year 1907. 1907 was the year of the tenth anniversary of the Badeni´s language legislations. It is the distance from these language legislations and also from the beginning of World War I. The tendency of this thesis is the schema of these questions in a historical context. It is a diachronic study. It is no historical analysis but the lingual analysis. It was progressing with method of the study of the articles in the press from Ústí nad Labem of this time. The text was analysed on the basis of the used language elements by the help of the skilled literature. This theme is needed to better understanding of the history especially history of the problematical coexistence of the Czech and German speaking population in the lands of the Bohemian Crown.

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá analýzou politického diskursu v ústeckém tisku mezi lety 1897-1914. Největší pozornost je věnována Badeniho jazykovým nařízením, vztahům mezi česky a německy mluvícím obyvatelstvem hlavně v oblasti severozápadních Čech a následkům, jaké měla tato jazyková nařízení pro další vývoj jejich vztahů. Rozmezí těchto let bylo zvoleno záměrně, neboť rok 1897 je rokem vydání Badeniho jazykových nařízení a rok 1914 je rokem vypuknutí 1. světové války. Záměrně byl vybrán i region severozápadních Čech, neboť se jedná o oblast, kde žilo jak česky, tak především německy mluvící obyvatelstvo, a proto měla tato nařízení na tuto oblast velký vliv. Práce mapuje vztahy těchto dvou etnik na pozadí článků z tehdejších ústeckých novin Aussiger Anzeiger. Tyto noviny vycházely do roku 1902 dvakrát týdně. Díky velkému zájmu čtenářů začaly od října roku 1902 vycházet jako deník a byly přejmenovány na Aussiger Tagblatt. Jedná se o příkladovou studii, pro níž byly vybrány dvě konkrétní sondy. První sonda je do roku 1897. Rok 1897 je rokem vydání Badeniho jazykových nařízení. Druhá sonda nastiňuje situaci z roku 1907. Rok 1907 byl 10. výročím vydání Badeniho jazykových nařízení, takže se jedná o určitý časový odstup nejen od těchto nařízení, ale i od vypuknutí 1. světové války. Cílem této práce je nástin problematiky v historickém kontextu, přičemž se jedná o diachronní studii. Nejde přitom o historickou analýzu, ale o analýzu jazykovou. Postupováno bylo metodou studia článků v ústeckém tisku z tohoto období a jejich interpretace. Texty byly analyzovány na základě použitých jazykových prostředků za pomoci odborné literatury. Toto téma je potřebné pro lepší poznání historie, zejména historie problematického soužití česky a německy mluvícího obyvatelstva v rámci zemí Koruny české.
