Development of selected tufitic horizons of the Ostrava formation in the Czech part of the Upper Silesian Basin

Abstract:

Hornoslezská pánev je v současnosti nejvýznamnější černouhelnou pánví v Evropě. Podstatou poznání stavby a vývoje sedimentárních pánví je identifikace a korelace vrstevních jednotek. K nejvýznamnějším identifikačním a korelačním horizontům patří výskyty hornin vulkanogenního původu, tonsteiny a brousky. V rešeršní etapě je zpracováno téma české části hornoslezské pánve se zaměřením na petřkovické a hrušovské vrstvy a charakteristika jednotlivých tufitických horizontů. Na základě textové a grafické dokumentace průzkumných vrtů oddělení ložisek nerostných surovin VŠB-TU Ostrava a softwarového prostředí produktu Microstation 8.5 firmy Bentley Systems byly zpracovány mapy výskytů tufitických horizontů sloje Ludmila, Bohumila, Vilemína, Bruno, Karel, Růžena, Olga a Roland. Ze zpracovaných map (přílohy 1-16) je jasné, že nejvýznamnějším tufitickým horizontem je Karel. Byl prokázán v téměř celé západní polovině české části hornoslezské pánve. Nachází se v části ostravské, příborské, mořkovské i frenštátské. Dalším rozšířeným horizontem je tufit Ludmily. Nachází se ve stejných částech české části hornoslezské pánve jako tufitický horizont sloje Karel. Nejméně rozšířeným horizontem se jeví tufitický horizont Vilemíny, jelikož byl výskyt prokázán pouze deseti vrty.

Abstract:

The Upper Silesian Basin is currently the most important coal basin in Europe. The essence of knowledge of the structure and development of sedimentary basins is the identification and correlation of stratified units. The most important identification and correlation horizons include the occurrence of rocks of volcanic origin, tonsteins and whetstone. In the research stage, the topic of the Czech part of the Upper Silesian Basin is elaborated with a focus on the Petřkovice and Hrušov member and the characteristics of individual tufitic horizons. Based on textual and graphical documentation of exploratory boreholes of the Department of Mineral Deposits of VŠB-TU Ostrava and the software environment of the Microstation 8.5 product of Bentley Systems, were processed maps of occurrences of tufitic horizons of Ludmila, Bohumil, Vilemína, Bruno, Karel, Růžena, Olga and Roland. From the processed maps (Appendices 1 - 16) it is clear that the most important tufitic horizon is Karel. It was proved in almost the entire western half of the Czech part of the Upper Silesian Basin. It is located in the Ostrava, Příbor, Mořkov and Frenštát parts. Another widespread may be tufit of Ludmila. It is located in the same parts of the Czech part of the Upper Silesian Basin as the tufitic horizon of the Karel. The least widespread horizon is the tufitic horizon of Vilemína, as the occurrence was proven by only ten boreholes.
