Automation: an innovative technology towards better logistics

Abstract:

The main aim of the thesis is to determine the influence of automation across the logistics cycle in the Amazon Company where I have pursued my internship. The technologies that are important in affecting the efficiency across the logistics cycle are determined through reviewing sources of literature. The effectiveness of these technologies is determined with the help of surveys in Amazon Company. Different aspects of automation in terms of technologies that affect the handling of logistics cycle are studied and evaluated. Reliable and valid data is collected from the employees of the Amazon Company for deriving the best technology to be adopted for ensuring automation of the logistics cycle in the company. A summary of suggestions is provided along with a proposed solution for improving the efficiency and effectiveness across the logistics cycle. The capabilities of drones and advanced robotics are obtained and provided for further exploration for improving the overall efficiency across the logistics cycle.
