Memoirs as the source of urbanonymy research (illustrated with the city of Hradec Králové)

Abstract:

Tématem bakalářské práce je urbanonymie města Hradec Králové a její odraz v memoárové literatuře. V práci jsou především sledovány změny urbanonymie, které byly zaznamenány v jednotlivých vzpomínkových knihách z 2. poloviny 19. století a 1. poloviny 20. století. Pozornost je také věnována urbanonymu jako sociálnímu fenoménu, pojmu paměť, kolektivní paměť a paměť místa. V závěrečné části se práce věnuje toponomastickému materiálu získanému z pamětí Emila Vachka, Františka Tichého, Václava Medka a hradeckých rodáků z přelomu 19. a 20. století, které ve svém výzkumu získal Bohumír Dejmek.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on the urbanonymy of Hradec Kralove and its reflection in the memoir literature. The main topic of the thesis are the changes of the urbanonymy which were noted in the particular memoir books from the 2nd half of the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century. The thesis also concentrates on the urbanonymy from the point of view of social phenomena, the term memoir, collective memory and memory of place. The last part of the thesis focuses on the toponomy material obtained from the memoirs of Emil Vachek, Frantisek Tichý, Václav Medek and the inhabitants of Hradec Kralove from the 19th and 20th century. These toponomy materials acquired Bohumír Dejmek in his research.
