Tato diplomová práce se zabývá sociálními aspekty ve vybraných dílech americké autorky Jodi Picoult, se zaměřením na tematický a žánrový vývoj autorky. Autorčina díla jsou tematicky rozdělena do tří částí, ve kterých je pozornost věnována komplikovaným rodinným vztahům, zejména pak vztahům partnerským, vztahům mezi rodiči a dětmi a mezi sourozenci. This master's thesis deals with complex social issues in the work of an American writer Jodi Picoult with special attention paid to the thematic and genre development. The author’s work is divided into three parts in which the thesis explores relationships between partners, parents and their children or even among siblings. It further discusses dysfunctional families, violence, and racism.
