Unreliable Narrators in Muriel Spark's Early Novels
Abstract:
Muriel Spark is an authoress whose capability to create a dynamic background in her novels is striking. Unlike the other writers, she uses several means to achieve this, with the unreliable narrator being one of them. My objective is to analyse the novels where this technique plays the most significant role; that is The Comforters, The Ballad of Peckham Rye and The Abbess of Crewe.
Abstract:
Muriel Sparková je autorka, jejíž schopnost vytvářet dynamické pozadí v románech je pozoruhodná. Na rozdíl od ostatních autorů k tomu používá několik prostředků, přičemž jedním z nich je nespolehlivý vypravěč. Mým cílem je analyzovat romány, kde tato technika hraje nejdůležitější roli; to jsou Utěšitelé, Balada z předměstí a Abatyše z Crewe.
