This diploma thesis is concerned with the analysis of the novel "Tis folly to be wise, or, Death and transfiguration of Jean-Jaques Rousseau" from the world-famous author Lion Feuchtwanger. The novel is compared with the actual facts. In the theoretical part is described life of Lion Feuchtwanger and also life of the French philosopher Jean-Jacques Rousseau. Tato diplomová práce se zabývá analýzou románu "Bláznova moudrost" od světoznámého německého autora Liona Feuchtwangera. Román je srovnáván se skutečnými událostmi. V teoretické části je popsán život Liona Feuchtwangera a také francouzského filozofoa Jeana-Jacquese Rousseaua. Je zde blíže osvětlena Francouzská revoluce.
