Chronic pelvic pain syndrome: how physiotherapy can reduce the pain and improve the affected women quality of life

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to carry out a comprehensive analysis of previous studies on the subject to identify the different physiotherapeutic options available and evaluate their effectiveness in the treatment of chronic pelvic pain syndrome with the main purpose of stating that an exclusively pharmacological or surgical and therefore invasive approach may not lead to desired results causing adverse effects and be less accepted by the person while physiotherapy and rehabilitation, with less invasive methods that focus on the person and not the problem, can lead to an improvement in the quality of life and reduction of the painful symptom of affected women.

Abstract:

Lo scopo di questa tesi ? effettuare un'analisi completa degli studi precedenti sull'argomento per individuare le diverse opzioni terapeutiche fisioterapiche disponibili e valutarne l'efficacia nel trattamento della sindrome del dolore pelvico cronico con lo scopo principale di affermare che un approccio esclusivamente farmacologico o chirurgico e quindi invasivo potrebbe non portare a risultati desiderati provocando effetti avversi ed essere meno accettate dalla persona mentre invece la fisioterapia e la riabilitazione, con metodi meno invasivi che mettano al centro la persona e non il problema, possono portare a miglioramento della qualit? di vita e riduzione del sintomo doloroso delle donne affette.
