Seniors' Satisfaction with Selected Educating Activities at Pardubice University

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá tématem spokojenosti seniorů s vybranými vzdělávacími aktivitami. Konkrétně senioři vyjadřují spokojenost s kurzy Univerzity třetího věku v Pardubicích a Univerzity volného času v Pardubicích. Cílem výzkumného šetření, které jsem v kurzech těchto Univerzit provedla, je zjistit, zda dosažené vzdělání seniorů nějak ovlivňuje spokojenost seniorů s těmito kurzy. V teoretické části se nejprve zaměřím na celoživotní vzdělávání a do něj spadajícího vzdělávání dospělých, poté se věnuji seniorům. Především charakteristice jednotlivých forem, vývoji a obecným rysům seniorského vzdělávání. V této části práce se dotýkám i pojmů spokojenost a klima, které jsou důležité pro mé výzkumné šetření. Empirická část už se zaměřuje na konkrétní vzdělávací aktivity - Univerzitu třetího věku a Univerzitu volného času v Pardubicích. Konkrétně co seniorům pro tento školní rok nabízejí, jaké jsou podmínky studia či v čem se obě zařízení liší. Zbývající část tvoří výzkumné šetření, provedené na těchto Univerzitách, které zkoumá spokojenost seniorů v různých dimenzích utvářejících celkové klima kurzů.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the subject of senior’s satisfaction with selected educational activities. More specifically, it focuses on seniors’ expressing their opinion on their satisfaction with the courses at University of the Third Age and with courses at University of Leisure Time in Pardubice. The aim of the research investigation I performed within the university courses is to state, whether the achieved level of senior’s education affects in some way their satisfaction with these courses. In the theoretical part, I firstly focus on the lifelong education and education of adults – which falls into the former broader category; subsequently, I switch focus to seniors. I particularly concentrate on the characteristics of the individual forms on senior education, its development and general features. In this part of the thesis I also cover the notions of satisfaction and climate that are important for my research investigation. The empirical part then focuses on the individual educational facilities – University of the Third Age and University of Leisure Time in Pardubice. I mention what they have to offer to the prospective students in the current year, what are the study specifications or what are the differences between the two facilities. The remaining part of the thesis consists of the research investigation performed in these universities – it investigates the seniors’ satisfaction from the point of view of various dimensions creating the overall climate of the courses.
