The influence of mass media on lifestyle change through the eyes of high school students

Abstract:

Práce má za cíl poukázat na vliv masmédií na proměnu životního stylu u středoškolských studentů. Práce se zabývá základními pojmy v oblasti médií, druhy masových médií a mediální gramotností středoškolských studentů. Práce dále definuje generaci středoškolských studentů a jejich sociální interakce ve společnosti. V poslední řadě práce poukazuje na hranici mezi bezpečným a nadměrným užíváním mediálních služeb a odhaluje, jak tyto služby ovlivňují životní styl u středoškolských studentů. V teoretické části práce budou definovány základní pojmy týkající se médií a jejich služeb, cílová skupina středoškolských studentů a také jejich proces socializace ve vztahu k médiím. Posledním důležitým tématem v teoretické části práce je téma závislosti, tedy její definice, faktory a to, jak se jí vyvarovat. Praktická část bude zpracována prostřednictvím kvalitativního výzkumného šetření, tedy pomocí rozhovorů se středoškolskými studenty. Rozhovor bude zaměřen na jejich využívání a vnímání mediálních služeb a na to, jaký na ně měla tato proměna životního stylu vliv jak v běžném životě, tak ve vzdělávacím procesu.

Abstract:

The work aims to point out the influence of mass media on lifestyle change in high school students. The thesis deals with basic concepts in the field of media, types of mass media and media literacy of high school students. The thesis further defines the generation of high school students and their social interactions in society. Last but not least, the thesis puts foward the line between safe and excessive use of media services and reveals how these services affect the lifestyle of high school students. The theoretical part of the thesis will define the basic concepts related to the media and their services, the target group of the thesis, high school students and their process of socialization in relation to the media. The important topic of addiction, its definition, factors and possible prevention will be mentioned at last. The practical part will be processed through a qualitative research survey, through interviews with high school students. The interview will focus on their use and perception of media services and how this change of lifestle has affected them in everyday life and in the educational process.
