Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to describe the entrepreneurial success of the two most famous black women Tyra Banks and Oprah Winfrey and the personal and professional obstacles, they had to overcome on their ways to success. The first chapter provides a look at the history of African-American entrepreneurship and attempts to define the aspects of contemporary business activities of black women. The following part of this tesis is focused on already mentioned women entrepreneurs and deals with the family background they come from, their lives and efforts they had to make on their ways to success.

Abstract:

Cílem této práce je popsat podnikatelský úspěch dvou mediálně nejvýraznějších černošských žen, Tyry Banksové a Oprah Winfreyové, a také překážky, které musely na cestě za svým úspěchem překonat ve sféře soukromé i profesionální. První kapitola nabízí náhled do historie podnikání černošské menšiny ve Spojených státech amerických a zároveň se pokouší zachytit současné aspekty podnikatelské činnosti afroamerických žen. Další část této práce je věnovaná již zmíněným podnikatelkám a zabývá se rodinnými poměry ze kterých tyto ženy pochází, jejich životem a úsílím, které na cestě k úspěchu musely vynaložit.
