Cílem práce je zanalyzovat reprezentace Ostravy, Ostravska, Ostraváků a "ostravskosti" v české a československé filmové produkci od 20. let 20. století do současnosti. Zachyceny jsou proměny filmových reprezentací v kontextu kulturního a politického klimatu doby a zaměříme se na topoi, mýty, ideje, ideologie a stereotypy, které byly těmito filmovými reprezentacemi produkovány a šířeny.
