Death and Burial in early Shinto

Abstract:

Předmětem zkoumání této práce je smrt a pohřbívání v raném šintó. Zkoumání vychází ze dvou literárních památek, Poznámek o lidu Wa z kroniky Wei a mýtu o bohu Izanagim a bohyni Izanami z kroniky Kodžiki. Z mýtu jsou vyzdvihnuty aspekty smrti, např. pohřbívání, znečištění a očista, kosmologie a víra v duši, které jsou následně porovnány s památkami materiálními, tedy s archeologickými nálezy, a to z nejstarších obdobích od raného Džómon až po sepsání kroniky Kodžiki. Cílem práce je vysledovat popsané jevy v co nejstarším období.

Abstract:

The aim of this work is to research death and burial in early Shinto. The research is based on two literary relics, Notes about Wa people from the chronicle of Wei and the myth of the god Izanagi and the goddess Izanami from the Kojiki chronicle. Aspects of death are highlighted from the myth, such as burial, pollution and purification, cosmology and belief in the soul, which are then compared with material relics, i.e. archaeological finds, from the earliest periods from early Jomon until the compilation of the Kojiki Chronicle. The aim of the work is to trace the described phenomena in the oldest possible period.
