Structural analysis of sex chromosomes in genus Silene
Abstract:
Silene latifolia (white campion) is ideal model organism for studying sex chromosomes. New information about structure of X and Y chromosomes in this plant show that both sex chromosomes carry genes which are divergent from each other. Silene latifolia (silenka širolistá) je ideální modelový organizmus pro studium pohlavních chromozomů. Nejnovější poznatky o struktuře chromozomu X a Y této rostliny ukazují, že oba chromozomy obsahují geny, u nichž se projevuje vzájemná divergence, která je pravděpodobně daná degenerací alel vyskytujících se na nerekombinující části chromozomu Y.
