This work deals with selected short stories from the book Os provisórios by the Brazilian author Helena Parente Cunha. The selected short stories are: “O pai”, “O triângulo mais que perfeito”, “A vergonha”, “Maria das Dores”, “Noite de núpcias”, “A mãe”, “A tia”, “O olho roxo”, “Festa de casamento”, “Amor de filha”.
