Ancient Mysteries Cults and Early Christianity

Abstract:

Práce se věnuje mysterijním kultům helénského světa a ranému křesťanství a jejich problematice. Podrobněji pojednává o mystériích v Eleusině, Dionýsových mystériích, mystériích Kybelé a Attida a těch Isidiných a Mithrových. Sleduje podobnosti mezi mystérii a křesťanstvím a snaží se tyto dva proudy porovnat, nastínit jejich vznik, vývoj a vzájemný vliv. Cílem práce je spíše zachytit současný stav bádání v této oblasti než badatelský přínos.

Abstract:

This work focuses on mystery cults of the Hellenic world and early christianity and their problems. Eleusinian mysteries, Dionysiac mysteries, mysteries of Kybele and Attis and those of Isis and Mithras are treated in more details. It traces the similarities between mysteries and christianity and attempts to compare these two trends, to sketch out their origin, development and reciprocal influence. Its aim lies in catching the current scholar research more than in bringing new knowledge.
