The Differential Impact on Staff Mental Health during the Covid-19 Pandemic

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na možné psychické dopady na duševní zdraví zaměstnanců způsobené koronavirovou krizí, která probíhala převážně v letech 2020 a 2021 a způsobila světovou pandemii nemoci Covid-19. Výzkumnou skupinou jsou zaměstnanci tří různě velkých firem z České republiky. Cílem práce je zjistit jaké psychické dopady se nejčastěji u zaměstnanců objevovaly a jak zaměstnanci zvládali přechod na práci z domova. V této práci mohou také firmy získat doporučení, jak během takové doby lze pomoci svým zaměstnancům a zároveň jsou poskytnuty doporučení i pro jednotlivé zaměstnance. V závěru práce jsou shrnuty nejdůležitější poznatky získané pomocí kvalitativního výzkumu a výsledky jsou porovnány s jinými mezinárodními studiemi.

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on the possible psychological impact on the mental health of office employees during the coronavirus crisis in 2020 and 2021 stemming from the Covid-19 global pandemic. The sample set in this research is comprised of office employees from three companies of varying sizes in the Czech Republic. The aim of this thesis is to determine which psychological stress occurred the most often among these employees and then how they coped with the transition of working from home. The completed thesis also includes recommendations for companies on how they might support their employees more effectively under such a time, with additional suggestions for office employees facing the same challenges. This thesis concludes with a summary of the most important findings that were gathered using a qualitative research methodology and includes comparisons with similar studies elsewhere.
