Idioms in fictional literature on the example of the translation of Michal Viewegh's novel "Báječná léta pod psa" into German

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the idioms contained in Michal Viewegh's novel "Báječná léta pod psa" and their translations into German. The theoretical part explains the terminology, features of idioms and their classification. The thesis also deals with the equivalence of idioms and concludes with some information about the author of the work and his novel. The practical part of the thesis includes an analysis of the idioms and a contrastive comparison with their German version given in the translation of the work. For this purpose the parallel corpus "InterCorp" is used. Based on the classification and grouping of idioms, an conclusion is made which shows which types of idioms and degrees of phraseological equivalence prevail in the novel.

Abstract:

Diese Diplomarbeit beschäftigt sich mit den in Michal Vieweghs Roman "Báječná léta pod psa" enthaltenen Phrasemen und ihren deutschen Übersetzungen. Im theoretischen Teil wird die Problematik der Terminologie, Merkmale von Phrasemen und deren Klassifikation erläutert. Anschließend wird auf die Äquivalenz von Phrasemen eingegangen, und zum Schluss werden einige Informationen über den Autor des belletristischen Werkes und seinen Roman gegeben. Der praktische Teil der Arbeit umfasst eine Analyse der Phraseme und einen kontrastiven Vergleich mit ihrer deutschen Version in der Übersetzung des Werkes. Zu diesem Zweck wird das Parallelkorpus "InterCorp" verwendet. Auf der Grundlage der Klassifizierung und Gliederung von Phrasemen wird eine Auswertung vorgenommen, die zeigt, welche Typen von Phrasemen und Grade der phraseologischen Äquivalenz im Roman vorherrschen.
