Bossing in medical healthcare

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá tématem "Bossing ve zdravotnictví". Cílem této diplomové práce je analyzovat bossing vyskytující se na zdravotnických pracovištích. Práce je členěna na dvě části. V teoretické části nejdříve popisuji základní pojmy, které s bossingem souvisejí. Těmi jsou diskriminace, agrese, šikana, násilí, formy šikany. V další části se zabývám bossingem, kde je zmíněna historie, projevy bossingu, preventivní opatření a kdo jsou aktéři bossingu. Dále je popsáno pracovní prostředí a právní úprava šikany na pracovišti. V metodice byl využit kvalitativní přístup, metoda polostrukturovaných rozhovorů. Výzkumný soubor tvořily respondentky ze dvou nemocnic Krajské zdravotní a.s. (akciová společnost). K analýze rozhovorů byla využita metoda otevřeného kódování metoda tužka papír. Z průzkumu vyplývá, že 11 respondentek se staly obětí šikany ze strany nadřízeného pracovníka a jedna respondentka se stala svědkem šikany u své kolegyně. Diplomová práce ukázala, že bossing je častým fenoménem ve zdravotnictví. Ukazuje, jak se nadřízení chovají neadekvátním způsobem ke svým podřízeným. Je důležité, aby každá oběť šikany věděla jak se bránit, a aby z té situace vyšla se vztyčenou hlavou a s úctou.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the topic "Bossing in Healthcare". The aim of this thesis is to analyze bossing occurring in healthcare workplaces. The thesis is divided into two parts. In the theoretical part I first describe the basic concepts related to bossing. These are discrimination, aggression, bullying, violence, forms of bullying. In the next part I deal with bossing, where the history, manifestations of bossing, preventive measures and who are the actors of bossing are mentioned. Then the work environment and the legal regulation of bullying in the workplace are described. The methodology used a qualitative approach, the method of semi-structured interviews. The research sample consisted of respondents from two hospitals of the Regional Healthcare a.s. The open coding method - pencil paper method was used to analyze the interviews. The research shows that 11 respondents were victims of bullying by their supervisor and one respondent witnessed bullying by her colleague. The thesis has shown that bossing is a common phenomenon in the healthcare sector. It shows how supervisors behave in an inadequate manner towards their subordinates. It is important for any victim of bullying to know how to defend themselves and to come out of the situation with their head held high and with respect.
