Barriers to integration of vocational education in the labor market

Abstract:

V České republice jsou nejobtížněji zaměstnatelnou skupinou mládeže absolventi středních odborných škol. Jednou z možných příčin je kvalita vzdělání a s tím spojená připravenost na vstup do reálného pracovního procesu. Pro tento aspekt je klíčový systém výuky s důrazem na praktickou část vzdělávání a tedy integrace do pracovního procesu již v rámci studia. Je potřeba podívat se na dnes nastavené podmínky jak pro školy, tak také pro zaměstnavatele. Tato práce je analýzou současné strategie integrace vzdělávacích institucí na středoškolské úrovni do pracovního procesu jak v soukromém, tak i ve veřejném sektoru. Součástí práce je také analýza podmínek nastavených pro implementaci dané strategie a identifikace bariér jejich využití. Teoreticky je práce založená na průzkumu původu a příčin transakčních nákladů s touto problematikou spojených. Práci doplní srovnání s trendy v zahraničí.

Abstract:

In the Czech Republic, the Vocational high school graduates have currently the most difficulties finding a job. One of the possible reasons of this situation is the quality of education and the resulting level of readiness of these graduates to get integrated into the labor market. For the reason of being ready to work, the key point in the education is practice. It is important to integrate students gradually into the everyday work already within their studies. One needs to look at the conditions set today for the students, schools as well as for the possible employers of high school interns. This work analyses the contemporary strategy of vocational high schools to integrate their students into a labor market in public, as well as private institutions. The conditions for such activities and barriers to them are the key part of this analysis. A theoretical base of this work is an investigation into origin of transaction costs and thus of barriers currently present. A comparison with practices abroad serves as an inspiring addition to this work.
