Burnout Syndrome of Workers at the Department of Social and Legal Child Protection

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se bude zabývat problematikou syndromu vyhoření, který je do jisté míry spjat s každým povoláním, avšak v pomáhajících profesích je zastoupen ve značné míře. Teoretická část diplomové práce je shrnutím poznatků z odborné literatury vztahujících se k definování samotného pojmu, predikcí vzniku, průběhu onemocnění i jeho členění v čase a v neposlední řadě také možnostmi jeho prevence, primárně pak supervizí. V teoretické části se práce věnuje také orgánu sociálně-právní ochrany dětí, vysvětlení tohoto konceptu, stručnému popisu osoby sociálního pracovníka a rizik, které na něj při výkonu tohoto povolání doléhají. Praktická část diplomové práce byla pojata jako kvantitativní výzkum, v rámci kterého bylo snahou zmapovat výskyt znaků syndromu vyhoření u pracovníků orgánu sociálně-právní ochrany dětí a toto pak dát do kontrastu toho, zda pracovníkům je či naopak není, poskytována zaměstnavatelem možnost prevence vzniku syndromu vyhoření formou supervizí. Výzkumný vzorek byl požádán o anonymní vyplnění standardizovaného dotazníku z inventáře MBI neboli Maslach Burnout Inventory, prostřednictvím kterého můžeme zjistit výskyt emocionální exhausce, depersonalizace a sníženého pracovního uspokojení u respondentů. Respondenti byli zároveň dotazováni na to, zda jim na pracovišti jsou umožňovány supervize.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the phenomenon of burnout syndrome, which is to a certain extent connected to every profession, however, in helping professions tends to occur to a large extent. The theoretical part of the thesis is a summary of already existing research and literature related to the definition of the concept itself, prediction of its occurrence, its stages and its division over time and last but not least, the possibilities of its prevention. The theoretical part also deals with the Department of Social and Legal Child Protection, explaining this concept, as well as, briefly describing the social worker and the risks that affect social workers in performing this profession. The practical part of the thesis was conducted as quantitative research, in which the effort was to map the occurrence of burnout syndrome among the social workers and then put this in contrast to whether workers are or are not provided with possibilities to prevent burnout syndrome by the employers. The target group was asked to anonymously fill in a standardized questionnaire from the MBI (Maslach Burnout Inventory), which can help detect the occurrence of emotional exhaustion, depersonalization and reduced work performance in respondents' behavior. Respondents were also asked about the possibility to have supervision at the workplace.
