Abstract:

Tato práce zkroumá politiku cestovního ruchu v Evropské Unii. Především se autorka zaměřuje na takovou politiku a postupy, které přispívají k životnímu postředí, sociokulturnímu a ekonomickému rozvojí oblasti Baltiského moře a jeho udržitelnosti. Udržitelnost prostředí (životního, sociokulturního nebo ekonomického) je poměrně nový koncept, který od nedavna začal také ovlivnovat průmsl cestovního ruchu. Autorka měla v cíli znazornit potencialní výhody tohoto konceptu v cestovním ruchu, jakož i případné negativní dopady, a také dát nějaké doporučení k této praxi. Proč bychom se měli zajímat o udržitelnosti a co cestovní ruch má s tím společného? To jsou hlavní otázky položené v této práci. Autorka se domnívala, že díky tomuto výzkumu dojde ke zvýšení povědomí o tomto konceptu, a že káždý z nas jako turista si uvědomí že může jak pomoci a také poškodit životní prostředí a jeho obyvatele.

Abstract:

This thesis studies tourism policies in the European Union. In particular author focused on those policies and practices which contribute to environmental, socio-cultural and economic development of the Baltic Sea Region region and its sustainability. Sustainability is a relatively new concept and it has recently had an impact on tourism industry as well. The author pursued a goal of showing the benefits of sustainable approach to tourism as well as any negative impacts and gave some recommendation to this practice. Why should we care about sustainability and what does tourism have to do with it? These are the main questions asked in this thesis. With this research the author hoped to increase the awareness about this term and that we as tourists can help or harm the environment and its inhabitants while going for a vacation to any destination.
