Social entrepreneurship and its trends in the Czech Republic

Anotácia:

Tato práce se věnuje sociálnímu podnikání a současným trendům v této oblasti. Teoretická část práce je uvedením do problematiky sociálního podnikání a věnuje se sociálním podnikům, významu sociálního podnikání i stručné historii. Pozornost je věnována také trendům v dané oblasti i připravovanému českému zákonu o sociálním podnikání. Praktická část představuje kvalitativní výzkum realizovaný formou polostrukturovaných rozhovorů se zástupci sociálních podniků. Byly stanoveny výzkumné otázky, které zjišťovaly, které problémy řeší sociální podniky, jak se mohou stát udržitelnými, jaká je jejich role v současně společnosti, a také jaká řešení lze navrhnout pro efektivnější fungování sociálních podniků. Zjistili jsme, že sociální podniky se domnívají, že stát neposkytuje sociálním podnikatelům dostatečnou podporu, a to nejen finanční. Dotazovaní si myslí, že stát jejich aktivity neoceňuje dostatečně a že se podnikatelům nijak výrazně nesnaží pomáhat.

Abstract:

This thesis is focused on the social entrepreneurship and on the current trends within this area. The introduction to the topic of social entrepreneurship, social enterprise, the general sense of the social entrepreneurship and its short history will be described in the first chapter, which is the theoretic part of this work. The attention is also paid to the trends within given area and to the Czech regulation of the social entrepreneurship which has still been developing. The practical part of this thesis deals with the qualitative research which was performed based on the half-structured interviews with the lead employees of the chosen companies. The research question, which were stated in order to find out the issues the social enterprises face on daily basis such as how to become sustainable, what is their role in the current society and what solution can be proposed to make the social enterprises more efficient. According to the Czech social enterprises’ opinion, they don´t receive enough sufficient support from the state. The interviewees also consider the appreciation from the state as inefficient and the effort of the state to support the social enterprises as inadequate (insufficient).
