Basal stimulation - application of the concept basal stimulation in practice

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá konceptem bazální stimulace, který umožňuje pacientům se zdravotním a duševním postižením lepší integraci do jejich života. Práce s konceptem bazální stimulace bere ohledy na pacientovi zvyky a individuální potřeby. Prvky bazální stimulace stimulují pacienta a umožňují mu tak lepší vnímání okolního světa, tělesných hranic a usnadňují mu tak jeho komunikaci s okolním světem. Teoretická část bakalářské práce popisuje koncept bazální stimulace obecně, jeho historii, neurofyziologický vývoj, který je základem konceptu a jednotlivé prvky, které se v konceptu využívají. Cílem práce je zjistit, do jaké míry je koncept bazální stimulace využíván ve Fakultní nemocnici v Ostravě a jak často se na odděleních pracuje s autobiografickou anamnézou. Dalším cílem je zpracování kazuistiky pacienta, u kterého byl koncept aplikován. Ke splnění cílů jsou použity materiály poskytnuté z Fakultní nemocnice Ostrava, které uvádějí výsledky z průzkumu v roce 2012 prováděném ve Fakultní nemocnici v Ostravě. Tyto data jsou zařazeny do praktické části práce. V rámci kazuistiky, je sledována pacientka z dětského oddělení pediatrické resuscitační a intenzivní péče , u které se ve dvanácti letech vyskytla hemoragická cévní mozková příhoda. V jejím případě byl koncept bazální stimulace plně využíván a byla do něj aktivně zapojena matka pacientky, která se o dceru starala po celou dobu její hospitalizace. V případě zkoumané kazuistiky můžeme říci, že efekt bazální stimulace měl na pacientku kladné účinky. Výsledky průzkumu provedeného ve Fakultní nemocnici v Ostravě ukazují, že nejvíce proškolených sester je na dětských odděleních pediatrické a intenzivní péče A a B, kde je koncept bazální stimulace hojně využívám. Pokud se u pacientů neodebírá autobiografická anamnéza, pak se využívají pouze jednotlivé prvky bazální stimulace.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the concept of basal stimulation by which we may allow patiens with health and mental disability better integration into their life. When working with the concept of basal stimulation it is considered patient?s habits and his or her individual needs. Through the use of elements of basal stimulation the patient is stimulated and it is enabled a better perception of the world, physical boundaries and it is easier for the patient to communicate with the outside world. In the theoretical part the thesis deals with the concept of basal stimulation in general, outline its history, neurophysiological development, which is the basis of the concept, and particular elements that are used in the concept. The aim of this work in the practical part is to determine to what extent the concept of basal stimulation is used in the University Hospital Ostrava and how often the autobiographical anamnesis is used in the ward. Another aim is to compile the casuistry of the patient who underwent the concept. To achieve these objective, it is used materials provided by the University Hospital Ostrava, which report results from a survey conducted by University Hospitál Ostrava in 2012. Those data were included in the practical part. In case of the casuistry i.e. the study of case, it has been chosen a patient from a pediatric intensive care unit, who suffered from intracerebral hemorrhagical stroke at the age of twelve. In her case, the concept of basal stimulation was fully utilized and mother of the patient was actively involved throughout the hospitalization. In case of examined consuistry, we can say that the effect of basal stimulation had positive effects on the patient. The results of the research, which was made in University Hospitál Ostrava, shows that in the pediatric wards of resuscitation and intensive care A and B, where the concept of basal stimulation is often used, is majority of trained nurses. If the autobiographical anamnesis is not taken, then only particular elements of basal stimulation are used.
