A Metasemantic Problem for Metaethical Ardent Realism

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá argumentem Mattiho Eklunda, ze kterého vyplývá metasemantický problém pro metaetický ardentní realismus. V práci argument představuji a vyhodnocuji jeho platnost. Proto nejprve osvětlím, v čem spočívá a čím je motivován ardentní realismus, poté představím Eklundův argument a jeho důsledky pro ardentní realismus, dále nastíním a kriticky zhodnotím dosud navržená řešení tohoto problému a na základě tohoto kritického zhodnocení vyhodnotím, za jakých podmínek (zda vůbec za nějakých) se ardentní realismus vypořádá se svým metasemantickým problémem.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with an argument of Matti Eklund which implies a metasemantic problem for metaethical ardent realism. In this thesis I present the argument and evaluate its validity. Therefore, I first illuminate what ardent realism consists in and is motivated by, then I present Eklund's argument and its implica-tions for ardent realism, then I outline and critically evaluate the solutions to the problem that have been proposed so far, and on the basis of this critical evaluation I assess under what conditions (if any) ardent realism will deal with its metasemantic problem.
