V úvodných kapitolách práca poskytuje prehľad základných informácii spojených s problematikou strabizmu. Opisuje všeobecné základy binokulárneho videnia, rozdeľuje strabizmus do diagnostických jednotiek a poskytuje základné informácie o možnostiach chirurgickej liečby strabizmu.
