Předložená bakalářská práce se zabývá analýzou funkcí tzv. turnpike trusts a jejich role při rozšiřování sítě veřejné dopravy. The aim of the bachelor thesis is to analyse the functions of turnpike trusts and their role in the expansion of the transportation network. The theoretical basis of the work is mapping the historical origins, development and disappearance of these organizations first in England and then in the United States and evaluates their benefits and shortcomings.
