Foreigners in Early Mediaeval Bohemia. Archaeological and Historical Documents

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá přítomností cizích etnik na českém území v době raného středověku, přesněji od přelomu 9. a 10. století po konec 12. století. Vychází se zde dvou hlavních částí, kdy první část čerpá z písemných pramenů a literatury. Snaží se tedy roztřídit různá etnika a zjistit, kde se vyskytovala. Druhá část se zabývá přímými doklady přítomnosti cizích etnik na našem území. Jedná se tak o archeologické nálezy v podobě různých importů, ale i samotných pohřbů cizinců. Cílem práce je pak vyhodnocení přítomnosti cizinců z písemných a hmotných pramenů a jejich následné srovnání.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals whit the presence of foreign ethinc groups in the czech territory in the early Middle Ages, specifically from the turn of the 9th and the 10th century till the 12th century. The thesis consists of two main parts, the first part draws on written sources and literature. Moreover, it sorts out various ethnic groups and lists where they occurred. The second part is about direct proofs of the presence of the foreign ethnic groups in our territory. It presents archaeological findings in different forms of imported objects, and also burials of foreigners. The purpose of the thesis is an evaluation of the presence of foreigners based on written sources and archaeological findings and their further comparison.
