Translation of the children's book "Ekoliski" into Czech language

Abstract:

Celem pracy było przetłumaczenie książki dla dzieci "Ekoliski". Praca jest podzielona na dwie części - teoretyczną i praktyczną. W teoretycznej części zajmujemy się teorią tłumaczenia. W pierwszym rozdziale definiujemy, co to jest tłumaczenie, jaka jest różnica między tłumaczem i przekładowcą, fazy i strategie tłumaczenia. W drugim rozdziale opowiadamy o procesie tłumaczenia i o jego zagadnieniach. Druga część, praktyczna, polega już na własnym tłumaczeniu książki. Najpierw opisujemy wybór książki do tłumaczenia, potem jej treść i autora. W ostatnim rozdziale znajduje się tekst książki w oryginale, a zaraz obok w kolumnie tłumaczenie tego tekstu. W dalszej kolejności rozdziału znajdziemy wyjaśnienia dotyczące trudnych zagadnień tego tłumaczenia.

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis was translation of the children's book 'Ekoliski'. The work is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part we describe the theory of translation. In the first chapter we define what is translation, the difference between translators, what are the phases and strategies of translation. In the second chapter we talk about the translation process and its issues. The practical part is about the book translation. First, we describe the rationale behind the choice of the book, then its content and author. The final chapter contains the text of the book in the original, with a translation of this text immediately next to it in a column. Later in the chapter we find explanations of the difficult issues of this translation.
