Thinking and ethics of artificial intelligence

Abstract:

Cílem práce je prozkoumat otázku myšlení strojů a vybrané etické otázky na základě literární rešerše. Hlavní etickou otázkou zvolenou v této práci je Tramvajové dilema, které úzce souvisí s autonomními vozidly. Další zkoumané etické oblasti jsou otázky soukromí a autorských práv. Součástí práce je několik používaných definic umělé inteligence a dalších pojmů, souvisejících s touto oblastí. Na otázku, zda stroje myslí ve významu lidského myšlení, zatím nelze jednoznačně odpovědět. V práci je popsána Imitační hra, publikovaná Alanem Turingem v roce 1950, jakožto určitý návod na odhalení, zdali jsou stroje skutečně schopny myslet včetně potenciálních námitek, které se k této hře pojí. V poslední kapitole jsou představeny určité otázky týkající se etiky umělé inteligence a moderních technologií, které ji využívají. Práce se zabývá rozhodováním umělé inteligence v kritických momentech, ovlivňujících lidské životy. Další otázkou je problematika soukromí v důsledku používání digitálních osobních asistentů. Nakonec se práce zabývá otázkou autorských práv týkajících se počítačových kódů, vytvořených umělou inteligencí.

Abstract:

The aim of this paper is to explore the question of thinking machines and selected ethical issues based on a literature search. The main ethical issue chosen in this thesis is the Trolley Problem, which is closely related to autonomous vehicles. Other ethical areas explored are privacy and copyright issues. The thesis includes several definitions of artificial intelligence and other terms related to this issue. The question of whether machines think in the sense of human thinking cannot yet be answered unequivocally. The Imitation Game, published by Alan Turing in 1950, is described in the thesis as a kind of guide to discovering whether machines are capable of thinking, including potential objections to the game. The last chapter introduces questions about the ethics of artificial intelligence and the modern technologies that use it. The thesis examines the decision-making of artificial intelligence at critical moments affecting human lives. Another issue is the concern of privacy as a result of the use of digital personal assistants. Finally, the thesis deals with the issue of copyright concerning computer codes created by artificial intelligence.
