An Unlikely Refuge: A Case Study of the Syrians in Sudan

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the topic of Syrian refugees living in Sudan, a country less known for its contribution to solving the humanitarian crisis since 2011. The goal of the thesis is to provide a complex overview of the situation of this relatively large community, focusing on four main aspects of integration - economical, social, cultural and political/legal. Táto diplomová práca sa zaoberá témou sýrskych utečencov žijúcich v Sudáne, ktorý patrí ku krajinám menej známym za svoju účasť na riešení tejto humanitárnej krízy. Cieľom práce je podať komplexný prehľad situácie tejto relatívne veľkej komunity. Sústredí sa najmä na štyri základné aspekty integrácie - ekonomický, sociálny, kultúrny a politicko-právny.
