Position of CHF and JPY in present international monetary system

Abstract:

The goal of this thesis is to evaluate the development of the Swiss and the Japanese economy from the perspective of monetary policy in order to assess the importance of their national currencies in international financial relations, with implications for the future development of the international monetary system. The first chapter describes the evolution of the international monetary system. The second chapter focuses on the central banks of Switzerland and Japan. The third chapter presents the use of national currencies of Switzerland and Japan in various segments of the financial market and gives the author's own opinion on the future development of the role of the Swiss franc and the Japanese yen in the international monetary system.

Abstract:

Cieľom diplomovej práce je zhodnotiť vývoj švajčiarskej a japonskej ekonomiky z pohľadu menovej politiky za účelom posúdenia významu ich národných mien v medzinárodných finančných vzťahoch s dôsledkami na budúci vývoj medzinárodného menového systému. Prvá kapitola popisuje vývoj medzinárodného menového systému. Druhá kapitola sa orientuje na centrálne banky Švajčiarska a Japonska. Tretia kapitola uvádza využitie národných mien Švajčiarska a Japonska v jednotlivých segmentoch finančného trhu a podáva vlastný názor autora na budúci vývoj postavenia švajčiarskeho franku a japonského jenu v medzinárodnom menovom systéme.
