This thesis deals with a comparative study of selected category (Human qualities) of English proverbs with their Czech equivalents. The theoretical part engages in definition of proverbs, their origin and interpretation. Abstract:
Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá srovnávací analýzou vybrané kategorie (Lidské vlastnosti) anglických přísloví a jejich českých ekvivalentů. Teoretická část se věnuje definici přísloví, jejich původu a výkladu. Praktická část se zaměřuje na analýzu a srovnání přísloví z hlediska významového,lexikálního a syntaktického. Přísloví jsou rozdělená do tří kategorií na základě jejich ekvivalence.
