Abstract:
This bachelor thesis discusses the American writer Will Eisner, one of the most significant pioneers of the graphic novel genre, in terms of Jewish literature. The main aim of this thesis is to analyze selected books of Will Eisner and find both the Jewish and autobiographical features in them. Attention will be given to The Contract with God trilogy, and further to two of his latest books, Fagin the …moreAbstract:
Tato bakalářská práce pojednává o Willu Eisnerovi, jednom z nejvýznamnějších průkopníků komiksového žánru, z hlediska židovské literatury. Hlavním cílem této práce je analyzovat vybrané knihy zmíněného autora a najít v nich židovské a autobiografické prvky. Pozornost bude zaměřena na trilogii Smlouva s Bohem, a rovněž na dvě Eisnerova díla, která vyšla mezi posledními, Žid Fagín a Spiknutí.
