Learning tasks in primary science in relation to the type of knowledge

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zaměřuje na analýzu učebních úloh třetí a páté třídy ve vyučovacích hodinách tematického okruhu Rozmanitost přírody. V teoretické části jsou shrnuty poznatky z oblasti kategorií znalostí jako cíle přírodovědného vzdělávání, popisuje učební úlohy z pohledu prostředku k utváření znalostí, seznamuje s psychologickými specifiky žáka jako řešitele těchto učebních úloh. Také informuje s rolí učitele při tvorbě a zadávání učebních úloh. Poslední kapitola teoretické části je věnovaná charakteristice RVP ZV ve vzdělávací oblasti tematického okruhu Rozmanitost přírody s učivem zaměřeného na rostliny (byliny) pro třetí třídu a životní podmínky na Zemi pro třídu pátou ve vztahu k učebním úlohám. Praktická část diplomové práce se zabývá analýzou učebních úloh vyučovacích hodin daného tematického okruhu ve zkoumaném vzorku žáků dvou tříd prvního stupně základní školy. Analýza učebních úloh je provedena z hlediska utváření jednotlivých typů znalostí před výukou tematického celku, během všech vyučovacích hodin a po ukončení tematického celku. Tento výzkum chce odhalit souvislost mezi typy učebních úloh z pohledu taxonomie dle Tollingerové a výslednými typy znalostí u žáků, stejně tak hledá souvislost mezi jednotlivými druhy znalostí utvářejících se prostřednictvím učebních úloh ve výuce a nárůstem těch samých typů znalostí po ukončení výuky tematického celku. Závěrem výzkumné části je vyhodnocení realizovaného výzkumu a diskuse výsledků uspořádaná dle dílčích cílů formulovaných na začátku práce.

Abstract:

The thesis focuses on the analysis of the instructional tasks used in the 3rd and the 5th years of primary school, in lessons aimed at the theme Variety of Nature. The Theoretical Part summarises findings in the field of knowledge categories as the objective of science education and it also describes instructional tasks as a tool for knowledge and presents psychological characteristics of a pupil solving them. Besides, it informs about teacher?s role in the proces of writing and assigning instructional tasks. The last chapter of the Theoretical Part concerns the characteristics of the Framework Education Programme for Primary Education, the educational area of the thematic area Variety of Nature, the subject matter concerning plants (herbs) for the 3rd year of primary school and the living conditions on the Earth for the 5th year of primary school, each in relation to the instructional tasks. The Practical Part of the thesis deals with the analysis of the instructional tasks applied on a sample of pupils in two classes of the first stage of primary school, in lessons aimed at the theme under study. The instructional tasks are analysed from the viewpoint of developing particular types of knowledge both before and after teaching the theme in lessons as well as in the course of all the lessons. The purpose of this kind of investigation is to find connections between the types of instructional tasks from the viewpoint of Tollingerova?s taxonomy and the resulting learners? types of knowledge as well as connections between particular types of knowledge developed by means of instructional tasks in lessons and the increase of the same types of knowledge after the theme is taught. The final part of the research evaluates the investigation and discusses the results, presented according to the specific objectives formulated at the beginning.
