IHC markers in the diagnostics of atypical hyperplasia/endometrioid intraepithelial neoplasia

Abstract:

Diagnostika atypické hyperplázie (AH) endometria je morfologická a často problematická. Nedávno byl publikován přínos některých IHC markerů v diagnostice těchto změn. Cílem práce bylo vyhodnocení IHC markerů PTEN, PAX2 a beta cateninu u AH. Exprese PTEN, PAX2 a beta cateninu byla vyhodnocena u 11 pacientek s AH. Senzitivita záchytu aberantní exprese byla u PTEN 90 %, u PAX2 45 % a u beta-cateninu 36 %, specificita všech markerů je 100 %. Přítomnost aberantní exprese těchto markerů dobře koreluje s přítomností atypií u hyperplázie. Využití v praxi se jeví jako velmi přínosné.

Abstract:

Diagnosis of endometrial atypical hyperplasia (AH) is morphological and often problematic. The contribution of some IHC markers to the diagnosis has recently been published. The aim of the work was to evaluate the IHC markers PTEN, PAX2 and beta catenin in AH. The expression of PTEN, PAX2 and beta catenin was evaluated in 11 patients with AH. The sensitivity of detecting aberrant expression was 90 % for PTEN, 45 % for PAX2 and 36 % for beta-catenin, the specificity of all markers is 100 %. The presence of aberrant expression of these markers correlates well with the presence of atypia in hyperplasia. Use in practice appears to be very beneficial.
