Gun amnesty in the Czech Republic after 1989

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce je zaměřena na oblast střelných zbraní v souvislosti se zbraňovou tématikou zániku trestnosti nedovoleného ozbrojování občanů a objasnění a řešení problematiky v oblasti nelegálního držení a následné legalizace nalezených nebo jinak nabytých zbraní tak, aby za splnění zákonných podmínek zanikla trestní odpovědnost občana při jejich nelegálním držení. V textu práce je popsán vývoj a historie zbraní, jejich rozdělení, právní legislativa a postup občana a Policie České republiky při odevzdání zbraně při zbraňové amnestii. Dále jsou zde zmíněny možnosti, jaké má občan při rozhodování, jak s odevzdanou zbraní naložit. Autor zde také popisuje postup, jak Policie České republiky dokončuje proces legalizace zbraní.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is focused on the field of firearms in connection with the weapons issue of the termination of the criminal proceedings of illegal arming of citizens, and clarification and solution of the issue of illegal possession, and subsequent legalization of found and in a different way acquired weapons so as to eliminate the criminality of a citizen in their illegal possession and thus avoid possible prosecution, subject to legal conditions. The text describes the development and history of guns, their distribution, legal legislation and the procedure of the citizen and the Police of the Czech Republic in handing over a gun in a weapons amnesty. Moreover, there are mentioned the possibilities which are available to a citizen when deciding how to dispose of a handed over weapon. The author also describes the procedure by which the Police of the Czech Republic leads to the completion of the process of legalization of weapons.
